good point. it's also like saying that hornbuckle is a character or those hooded sorcerors. they are not characters and never will be, just like meat.

Hornbuckle is still more of a character than Meat...even Monster is...as they were not every character's innards...Hornbuckle had his own look...though neither were given names...Hornbuckle sounds better than Meat...

The Midway team never officially named that person Hornbuckle. He recieved that name because of a common misconception, which came from one of Jade's MKII hints: "Hornbuckle who?" While the person was added to Blaze's storyline as a holy man, he was never named anything.
As for his look, it was not his own. He was just a pallette-swap of Liu Kang.

...I know his name wasn't Hornbuckle...as I stated neither Hornbuckle or Meat were given names...
...and pretty much everyone was a palette-swap...though Meat was still innards...can't disagree with that...

Everyone in Mortal Kombat is a character. Even if they are in backgrounds or not. How ever they appear, thats just how they appear. They are still characters. Even if it was a leg, or a skinless body such as Meat. Just because the idea is completely retarded doesnt mean they are not characters. So, my opinion on this topic is that they have almost every once playable character in the game and character that interacts with the storys alot. (Sareena for example) And a good idea I had for all the rest of the characters that are not playable in the other games should become hidden characters, such as Shang Tsung's masked guards, Shao Kahn's hench men, Shadow Preists, etc.

You know what, Cory? You're a character.
You're missing the point. Sure, you can sit there and argue that most of the minor people are characters, but that's because they had their own traits. But "Meat" does not count in that category. If you play MK4 as meat, you will never see it say "Meat wins." You will never see Meat have his own moves. You will never see Meat have his own sound set. You will never see meat have a story.
I'm pretty sure you need at least one of those to be a character.

i dont think that determines a characters though...maby the sound for his name becuase most of the ninjas in mkt where like palatswaps and their stances were alot simular but they had their own names being said so maby that would determine though.
but how would i be a character? cuz i play it? i was talking about within the story lines

Like an infant fetus to have its brains sucked out from the back of its head by a vacuum cleaner, so as was Meat. Does life start at birth? Does life start with the first heart beat? Does life start with the first breathe? Does like start with the first cry? Does life start with a name? No, no, no, no, no! Life starts at conception. Meat does not need a name in the game to be a character. He does not need a story to be a character. He does not need his own moves to be a character. He doesn’t need anything all you pessimists said he did. All he needs to be a character is this.
As I've said from the very start, the definition of a character is as fallows: "Any entity placed in the game by the creators of the game intentionally to be played as by the human component, is by definition, a character."
No, I do not want Shang Tsung's Guards, they do not fit the definition. And, NO, I do not want the Gods of Earth, Fire, and Water from Mortal Kombat Mythologies Sub-Zero, because they do not fit the definition. I wanted Meat, Chameleon, and Khameleon added into the game not to be greedy or to just fight about something. Because I believe in the life that is a character, even a fetus character that has no story, moves, or at one point even a name, is still the life of a character and deserves to be called a character.
You are right, I did not respect you what you said. But, like abortion, I refuse to respect what people say when I know it is wrong. You're free to say it, of course you are. But I am also free to fight it bitterly.
Now, at long last, the game is not going to be off kilter by three. Meat is here and we have strong hints by the provider of the picture, to the point of being fact, that both Chameleon and Khameleon are too.
This is my last post on this board. I know I am banned. For those of you who can’t tell I am indeed MoonEye821, back as MonEye822, for the sake of this last post. Ban me again all I care, I’m finding myself a new forum after this post anyway. I want wanted to give my victory speech, and apology. I take back all the bad things I ever said here about Midway. I like to think that the rants of myself, and the few true fans like me, played a part in Midway doing what they did. I applaud Midway for stepping up to bat, and taking the extra mile and the road less traveled. They kept a promise and held their selves to a higher moral standard than even most of their so called "fans" did. I am glad I was one of the few true fans to speak out. And, I am glad that Midway proved me wrong. You pulled it out the bag in time to keep your promise Midway. You are a great company that hold yourselves to your promises and to the high standards of your true fans. I was wrong, and you proved me that. I am a big enough man to admit that I indeed underestimated you wrongfully. I was just mad that I cared, and I felt you and most of your "fans" didn't care. Well, now I know that you cared, and that you cared we cared. So, thank you Midway, I applaud you for the great people you are. You, unlike most of your "fans" didn't forget where you came from. I'm still mad meat is a character now. like i said, i'll play as him once and then let him collect dust. as for khemeleon, i'll play as her over and over again if she is a well balance character.
