I was wondering a very important question. Does Midway or does Midway not own the character sprites of the 2D MK Games. I ask this because it seems like the major reason a lot of past characters where not in MKT is because the actors and actresses where “no longer with Midway.” If that is true, then why can MAT have the old Johnny Cadge? Why can it have the old sprites of Kitana, Sub-Zero, and the such. This leads me to think that Midway must only own the character sprites to such a degree where they can re-release games that used the sprites originally, but not create no games, like MKT and still use them in it without the original performer’s permission? Is this right? Does anyone know? I just want to know why MAT can have the old sprites but for some unknown reason MTK couldn’t have.
