because he looks like a middle eastern person or even african in mk 1 and 2(hes in a stage in MK2)
then in mk3 and on hes white what happened lol he might have that sickness that micheal jackson has where it turns ppl whiter lol.But yea...help me on this people

I think he was always intended to be white. He is even played by the same person (Rich Divizio) in both MK1 and MK3. He was IMO only more tanned during the MK1 times 
Btw. this topic reminds me of MK2 Sub-Zero. In his MK2 ending, he looked like Asian, though he didn´t look like that in the following games anymore

I've always thought of Kano as an Australian. After he was portrayed as one in the first movie, wasn't that ret-conned into the official game story? Or am I just delusional?

...I'm pretty damn positive as of my momentary memory that Kano's heritage was never mentioned...and the Black Dragon's origin was never stated (area-wise)...but I believe it's safe to assume he's as white as swiss cheese...

Kano's actor was tan during the first MK game. He is white, as he is from Australia. Sub-Zero's non-Asian appearance was retconned by giving him an American mother.

Yeah, hence the two names.
Also British people have a different cultural background, for instance Australia as a country was started by the Brits dumping a bunch of criminals there instead of putting them in a prison. So actually it makes sense for Kano to be one and not the other.
