I just have one small question. I've seen multiple videos of the new fatality system and many of those included the brain ripper fatality. This sounds cool in theory but man does it look horrible. I mean the guy sticks his entire fist through the other guys skull and when everything is all said and done his head is...perfectly intact???

I asked about this in another forum and someone said that Boon had already commented on this and said it would definitely be fixed. Can anyone confirm this?

I know it's just one mini-fatality out of hundreds but damn...I'd rather not have it at all if there just going to leave it the way it is.

Well just remember that what you saw is just a demo. the problem will be fixed when the game comes out.

I have actully peformed the Brain Rip, and it's not a fatality ender, it's part of the fatality strng together...I havn't heard anything about fixing it.

Yeah but just because it's not an ender doesn't mean they can't make it a bit more realistic.

You know, Midway is being so tight lipped about this new fatality system and it's driving me crazy because it's a new concept. And just like any idea that's just starting out, there's a strong possibility that it will fail.

However, don't think that I'm downing the new system. On the contrary, I think it's an excellent idea. The fatality system is the one thing that has been left virtually untouched since MK1. To be honest, I've been bored with fatalities since MK3. I mean, all you do is beat the crap out of the guy till it says "Finish Him", put in the right button combination only to watch a disgusting death move that we've seen many times before in previous games. The old fatality system is boring and stale and I'm glad they're changing it by making it more interactive. It's fesh and new.

But like I said, create-a-fatality is a new concept so there's no way of telling how it will turn out and it is the one thing I'm worried about most with this game. However I will say that if Midway implements it correctly and creatively, then it will be an excellent addition to the MK series. I believe it would be talked about and praised even more than the KAK feature.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Midway doesn't take this great idea and screw it up...

...personally I am far more excited and have full-hearted praise for the KaK system rather than the KaF system...though I do agree it is an excellent idea now that many details have been uncovered as our main concern was character specifics...

...though about being 'realistic'...that's a little much...considering you can tear off a person's leg while they're standing unconsience and yet they stay standing after losing their leg...of course it's not entirely realistic though everything is flawed as well it is a 'magic-enhanced' game meaning realistic qualities such as death in Rainbow Six are unnecessary as bending the rules is always more simple to apply...and most of the time preferred...

...though I understand what you mean as using the 'brain-ripper' as an example...but just like the 'leg-losing' example certain things have to be 'bended' to complete the full extent of the character...they wanted the 'brain-ripper' as a 'string' fatality so rules had to be bended for the character to complete their own finisher...realistically a lot would have to change but we just have to pretend like it would all work in order to enjoy the purpose of the image...

Well understand I was using the word "realistic" very loosely. But whether the brain ripper is just part of a string or an actual ender, I still feel it could be much improved upon and I hope it is fixed in the final version of the game.

...understood...if the brain-ripper was the ender then I could easily agree with it's unrealistic traits...though as a string I personally don't consider it a flaw (towards value)...though if it was 'fixed' it would definitely be a positive improvement...

I don't know why, but the idea of that part by part fatality system might be annoying. Only in the sence that you used to just press back forward forward forward A and sit back as Raiden grabs a guy's chest and stomach and zaps him to death, but now it'll probably be a long style branch like combo that all screws up if you fail. Either that or it'll be an easy, fun way to totally destroy an opponent while playing Arcade mode.
