At the young age of 44 years, TV environmentalist Steve "Crocodile Hunter" Irwin has passed away after being stung by a Stingray while filming an underwater documentry. A true Australian hero he will be missed.

I was never a fan, but he did some great things for this country. The bad irony is, the documentary was called "Things that can kill you"

the documentary was called "Ocean's Deadliest", according to MSNBC, and the article said that the stingray actually punctured his heart with its poisonous barb.
it's such a shame, as he has two small children being left behind, and his wife has to handle the both of them and take over things at the zoo and all that.
truly a tradgedy.

...I was sad to hear it...I began to think he was invincible...the man was amazing...though I never watched his shows I always heard about what he could do...R.I.P...
...now I'm not watching South Park for a year...

Alot of websites say the title was "Oceans' Deadliest" but the media here reported the title as "Things that can kill you" either way, bad irony

The thing is, normaly a sting rae doesn't attack humans unless provoked, and steve didn't provoke it:
"Without warning, the ray, usually regarded as a placid creature towards humans, stops, turns and lashes out, spearing Irwin in the chest with one of the knife-like barbs at the end of its tail."
Only 3 people have ever died from Sting Ray attacks in Australia.
So he wasn't asking to get stung in this instant, it was a freak occurance.

Its really sad, but his memory will live on, and their was some talk on the news that if his death was caught on cam but even if it was i dont think they should show the tape, but at least he died doing what he loved.

im sorry if i hurt anyones feelings i just thought since he would scare ( not on purpose) snakes, crocodiles, and ect that one day he would get attcked by a frightened animal.
Edit: i do respect him for he was a great teacher, a father and an ambasidor(i cant spell) for Australia. i didnt mean to be disrespectful to him.
