Why did they make umk3 if they made mkt after that?
Was it just they needed to wait for trilogy or was it like mkg and just added some characters and arenas??

The question isn´t ´Why did they make UMK3?´, but ´Why did they make MKT?´. They probably didn´t know about the possible MKT in the future (at least I hope) and just wanted to expand such a great game, which MK3 was.
And why did they make MKT after UMK3? Because they knew MK fans wish all characters in one game (and thus the game will make much money) and off course it didn´t take so much work as regular game. Don´t get me wrong- I like MKT, but I feel it is very incomplete (broken characters, some text only endings) and (except for Cage and Agressor mode) the game really didn´t include something new. I also didn´t like the fact they reused old graphics (IMO the old MK1 arenas really didn´t fit the game). But I have to admit I have played the game a lot.
On the other hand UMK3 is IMO the most complete MK game ever

so what about gold was it just to make sega fans have their own little mk while sega ended making console?

MKA is being made for the exact same reasons MKT was, and adding things people would have wanted then but were impossible.
