How come chan from the first movie was never a charecter. I thought they should have made him like a SU in one of the games. your thoughts?

Chen would be IMO redundant character in the MK games. Liu Kang already has a brother- Kung Lao. I know they´re not actually brothers- but they are both Shaolin Monks and have spent so much time together. So they consider each other either brother or lover 
Additionally I think that Chen was only a cinematic equivalent of Kung Lao, who had never appeared in the movies.
And finally: Chen was probably only scripter´s idea- not Midway´s. And of course he isn´t canon character. And because of these two reasons he will most likely never appear in the game- especially now, when this chapter should be ´closed´

Besides Chan was weak. He didn't even fight back when Shang Tsung was beating the crap out of him.

Well, Chan wasn't that great anyway. He was here in the story just to make a revenge story from the movie.  But if you ask about Chan, you can also ask why Art never been in MK games.

...agreed...both Art and that lion-styled guy who fought Kang would be far more intense additions...Art actually fought back while being pummeled...and the other guy just kicked ass...he was like the Sammy Hagar of fighting (in a screaming sense...not by kick-ass-sense...considering David Lee Roth would kick Hagar's ass...but I've side-tracked a bit)...

since we are on that subject, isnt some of the characters from Conquest resemble a few of the ones on newer games? so maybe one day it may happen but dont count on it
