This topic would be better suited in the Classics discussion. And the trick is just to remember to Duck his flying shadow knee and use big combos and or lots of projectiles.

For me, just use lots of combos and dodge his knee like he said, but, if you like sheeva, just keep doing the jump move.

i know its kinda cheap & for n00bs but turn on auto kombos & choose jade or sheeva or someone with good kombos, then just run at him & do a kombo & when he gets up do it again until he's dead, it can still be kinda hard but it works

I don't know about anyone else but I managed to beast him with lots of flying jumping kicks its a tatic that has worked for me whenever I can't use cyrax's grapple move (you know the one where he grabs them, jumps up and smashes them into the ground, if you time it right you can keep using the move without them getting a punch in).

Jump kicks, lots of blocking and combos I'd recommend for every character. However, if you want to beat the game on the hardest difficulty level while fighting on Master III column, here's how you do it:
1.) Select Noob Saibot
2.) Use his cloud projectile which prevents your opponent from hitting you
3.) Run up + uppercut (X2)
4.) Repeat steps 2 and 3 over and over until you get to Motaro
5.) Use jump kicks all over and the odd run+combo and you'll beat him
6.) Use steps 2 and 3 on Shao Kahn and he dies really quickly
You can't fail following these steps. Totally cheap and n00bish (literally, since you're using Noob Saibot) but fun to see how powerless your opponent is when he can't fight back, which is what Noob's cloud projectile does to them.  If you just want to defeat Kahn to see the ending "cinematic" when he dies, do this. If you want to beat the game with numerous characters, do what I said at the top of this post.

To beat Shoa Kahn be Noob Saibot and use his cloud and kick combo. It makes him look helpless.
