Hey matt3001
My personal opinion, if youre an MK fan, Id go for it. I bought Armageddon before I bought Deception and Im glad I did. Some people will feel otherwise for certain reasons that, well depending on what type of gamer you are (hardcore, casual) you may find it great or dissapointing.
I love Armageddon. I own it for PS2.
I felt, you cant have Armageddon without Deception and vice versa.
Theres no specific fatalities like in Deception. Its a different fatality system which Im sure you learned by now.
But thats not a bad thing. I like that I can do something different than the past games, although I do hope to see it go back in future titles.
The Kreate A Karacter option is sweet!
Motor Kombat is a suprise addition, and best when played with a friend.
Its not the best MK game, but if you find it for say.. thirty USDs, its definitely worth it. Dont pay 50 or 60 for it. Unless its a Premium pack which has a playable UMK3.
Theres things I didnt like about Deception that I love about in Armageddon. Konquest mode for Armageddon was more linear but less boring to me.
Some gamers like Deception's konquest mode more however.
If you dont have MK Deception yet, get that instead and try finding the premium pack on ebay. The addition of MK1 makes it so much sweeter.
If you do and have some bucks to shell, and are a huge mk fan, then yeah, go for Armageddon. Its not a bad game at all and definitely offers something different than previous games.
Also, I feel the graphics have tightened up in comparison.

I actually bought Deception before I went for Deadly Alliance, although that was mainly because it was on sale at £7.99 when I got it.
Still, I loved it to bits when I did get it. Too bad I couldn't say the same for DA, though.
As for Armageddon... well, that's something I didn't mind pre-ordering and paying full price for. Personally, I think it's what every hardcore MK fan needs. (Yes! NEEDS!!! You know you want it! Now go get it!!! lol j/k!)
On a serious note, I thought it was well worth getting, primarily because of the much improved Konquest mode, and the addition of "Kreate a Fighter" mode (mem cards on the ready!), and the "Kreate a Fatality" system is always something worth indulging in. (Even if you do cock it up every now-and-again, it's always worth experimenting with.)
Even if Motor Kombat isn't quite your cup of chai (especially as the CPU opponents have a nasty tendancy to cheat and perform "miracle comebacks"), it's the main Kombat side of the game that's the really important factor. (Well, in my opinion it is, anyway.) The aerial kombat system is definitely something to be thankful for. ...And if there's anything else that I've missed out here, that's probably because it's late, I'm tired, and I really should be gettin' me some sleep. _________________ "We don't choose to be what we are. The endings in MK:A are alittle dumb, but it's still the most hardcore MK so far! _________________ games forever!!!

Try to get the premium edition. You'll be much happier with that one. _________________ MORTAL KOMBAT!!!

Yeah. Pity they were too stingey to release the Premium Ed over here in Europe, else I'd have that one of those instead of the bog standard edition! ...And I'm still feeling a little stung over that. Tell me about it. They released MK:A premium edition in the states but even then, a very hard find.
Ebay is your best bet. _________________ MORTAL KOMBAT!!!
