Just an idea came to me. Could the dragon king be Liu Kang? What if he dies and somehow turns into an evil being, the dragon king? Looking evil, with whole black or red eyes and fighting against all the good guys? He did turn into a dragon as his fatality in MK2 and I guess that the MK logo is somehow assosiated with him as well. Just a guess.

I believe that the official Mortal Kombat 'Dragon Logo' is the Dragon King.
If it is, it would be really cool and would fit in the storyline well.
Midway have probably saved this moment till now, to unleash The Dragon King.
Lui Kang 'could' be it, but I am leaning towards my theory.

Nope, I don't really like Liu Kang nor his moves. I mean he is OK but nothing more. It just that him being killed cannot end just like that, so a possible "dark" outcome could be this.
