Ive noticed the premium versions of recent MK titles brought us an arcade perfect version of MK1 and UMK3.
Does anyone know if they plan to continue the trend and release MK2?
That would be AWESOME!
I have the SNES version and while that puppy keeps my bloody needs fixed, Id be so much more happier playing and Arcade perfect version of it on my tv.
I heard MK2 was once release for the PC? _________________ MORTAL KOMBAT!!!

Ohh ok. Hell, for MK2, I'll definitely work for it then. But I also found that there is a simple code one can enter to activate it instantly on the kontent screen.
IGN has it.
Regardless wether it works or not, I will definitely get it.
Maybe I'll like Shaolin Monks itself. _________________ MORTAL KOMBAT!!!

if you decide to get Shaolin Monks, I'd like to recommend that you have someone else to play along with you. Co-Op is a lot of fun, and is the only way you can unlock certain items. =) _________________ Nikki: your friendly neighborhood moderator. ^_^

Yeah. Ko-op play is alot more fun than solo play, that's for sure. Pity I haven't had many opportunities to play it that way, though. Although the last time I managed to get to play it with a friend, we managed to get all the way from the start of the game right up to the end of the Wastelands, AND beat Goro, all in one night!
Still though, I am still rather bummed out about MK2 not being included in the UK version of MK:SM.

Dark Specter: MK2 and MK3 arcade´perfect´ versions are also available on Midway Arcade Treasres 2. Though the MK3 audio is a bit messed up. The MAT2 MK2 (!) is the same as the Shaolin Monks version. But definitely get Shaolin Monks- it´s one of my most favorite games
EDIT: Also Midway Arcade Treasures: Dekuxe Edition (for PC) includes MK2 and MK3. _________________ DEVELOPER DIARIES

Thanks Total_MK!
I do have a question brewing here now.
I've read a few reviews for the collection games and found that many reviewers were complaining about how cheaply difficult MK2 and MK3 were in those compilation packs for PS2.
Does anyone here have any bad experiences with these games?
Are they any better in Shaolin Monks and MK:Armageddon Premium pack, or the exact same in difficulty, etc?
Im not the best MK gamer. It would dissapoint me if I find that theres no difficulty setting option in any version (although I dont expect any special options in Shaolin Monk's and MK:A premium's version. _________________ MORTAL KOMBAT!!!

Thats great news because so far MK2 in Shaolin Monks has been kicking my butt left and right! I spent nearly 45 minutes (no joke) on Kitana! She just wouldnt cut me a break! Hahahaha. I laugh because I mustve cussed out every badword in the badword dictionary. My younger brother was cracking up behind me.
But I turned around and told him "you know..this game has a bunch of cheap shots that make your hair turn white but i still love it" and he just laughed and said I was a glutton for pain.
The game itself isnt that difficult, especially in the beginning, but it is chalked full of cheap hits and throws that you'll never see coming from an actual human player. (unless theyre extreme game wizards).
Man.. So I may end up getting MAT2 as well. Hey does MAT2 include Primal Rage or is that MAT1? Thanks again!
Shaolin Monks is a fun game.
PS: I noticed MK2 has monorual sound. Is this because of memory limitations? Is stereo sound available in MAT2's version of MK2? Also, I noticed the music would cut itself short after a long round leaving with you nothing but jump and punch sounds. The ending as well would cut its music a few seconds after the credits roll up. _________________ MORTAL KOMBAT!!!

MAT2 comes with Primal Rage.
As for difficulty, MK2 / MK3 are the same as the arcade versions. I find it easier to play with arcade controls myself, so sometimes I have a bit of trouble with MK3 using the run button in an instant motion on a ps2 / xbox control pad.

I just received Midway's Arcade Treasures 2 today and I have to say I am very pleased with it
Some details I've noticed from comparing MAT2's MK2 vs MK2 in Shaolin Monks is that MAT2's version has a larger screen area with a smaller black bounding box surrounding it in contrast to MKSM's MK2.
Also, it's less cheap in terms of hits from the CPU like someone else said before which makes me an even happier camper. Its also very nice to have the difficulty options for each game. I didnt even know MAT2 came with MK3 in it!!!
Primal Rage is so cool!
This was a great buy for under 12 dollars.
Im now waiting for my MK1 plug and play controller game. _________________ MORTAL KOMBAT!!!
