I have to admit: MAT2 is a pretty awesome li'l package.

The only really disappointing factor in it (or so I find) is the shoddy music emulation for Primal Rage and the MK games.

Mind you, I've also noticed that (and I hope the guys & gals at Midway are reading this!), with MK3 on MAT2, more often than not, whenever you perform a fatality, the game has a nasty habit of cutting back to the music that was ALREADY PLAYING after just a sliver of the fatality tune has played.

Reeeeal smooth, that! Angry

yeah midway arcade treasures 2 is a pretty wicked game with all those games it comes with. only thing that pisses me off is how they screwed up in both shaolin monks and this one the damn pause button screws up you never getting to fight smoke in mk2 which sucks but what can you do.

Not that I would like to continue bombarding Midway's work on MAT2, but I just got through playing MK3 and I couldnt even bring myself to finish it because of 2 major flaws.

Number 1. The sound samples and bg music is incredibly compressed!! I mean its terrible.

Number 2. Is it me, or is there only 3 different arenas in MAT2's MK3???
Man that was noticably screwy and glitchy indeed. It kept revolving around 3 arenas! Memory shortage? I could think of 5 different MAT2 games that could have been sacrificed to better the quality in MK3.

MAT2's MK2 plays better than that of SHaolin Monks insert. And though it isnt in stereo, it sounds far far better than the fledgling compressed audio in MK3.

The rest of the games in the cd with the exception of Primal Rage, are in my opinion, NOT treasures. How do you mix classic 80's with late 90's games in a cd? They should have had a classics cd and "modern classics" on a separate compilation discs.

But ah well... ranting about old video games isnt going to change anything but release some nerdy steam from inside our collars.

Come on you game programmers! Put that extra effort! Laughing

There are many arenas in MK3:

-The Subway
-The Street
-The Bank
-The Rooftop
-Soul Chamber
-The Bridge
-The Balcony
-Bell Tower/Shao Kahn´s Tower
-The Church
-The Graveyard
-The Pit 3
-The Portal (secret)
-Noob´s Dorfen (secret)

You probably got into the well known arena loop: Soul Chamber->The Balcony->The Bridge->Soul Chamber. To solve your problem, just don´t let your opponent to uppercut you while fighting in Soul Chamber (this action would return you back on the Balcony) and then the next fight should take place in the Bell Tower stage Wink

That's true. Come to think of it, I think it was pretty stupid of Midway to create that backwards loop in the first place. I mean, come on! Everyone oughta know that MK's most famous trademark non-special move is the uppercut, right? So why do they force us to supress our lust for it just to get to the better stages in MK3, eh?

*sigh* (We never had this problem in MK2!)
Sad
