|
| |
Hey guys. So I was sitting around playing MK:A and wondered to myself... As the future of consoles are becoming more and more powerful, we're starting to see a bigger leap in graphics and animation to the point where models are looking more real than ever (in opposed to MK4 polygon characters which used digitized actor texture maps).
I was thinking that maybe one day, digitized actors will make a come back when the technology sets itself to a real high point whereas its possible to use 3d models like MK4.
If this were to happen, would you dislike it in favor of the more 3d modeled animated look, or be thankful that theyre bringing back what pretty much made MK stand out in the first place aside from the blood and fatalities?
Things are looking so much better that i just warped into these thoughts.
I would actually like it if the brought back digitized actors and mapped them on high end 3-d models. When you do fatalities on them, it brings a stronger sense of pain when you see a real person's head being torn off rather than a semi-real cartoon model. _________________ MORTAL KOMBAT!!!

Yeah that would be wicked if they went that way again for the xbox 360 i mean nothing's better then seeing kerri hoskins in the game again as sonya if they got her or any of the ones and they do have the power in the xbox 360 even tho i don't have one i know they do and same with the ps3 to do great models for the digitalized characters. _________________

Even though digitized actors were great in old 2d MKs, I´m not fan of games ´looking too real´. When I want to see real people, then I can go outside, or turn my TV on. When I want to see real people dying, then... ok, you really don´t want to know
Besides, I like the way how they were portraying the characters in MK:DA,D and Armageddon. They were not too realistic nor too fancy. And that´s just fine with me.
But if they´d like to return the digitized actors back... well, I´d still play the game.
Not to mention it would be great watching (real) Kerri´s face after she´d just finished watching herself dying after 11 hit fatality _________________ DEVELOPER DIARIES

LMAO that would be hilarious.
The way I imagined it, its half and half in terms of realistic. Their faces would be near perfect digital maps of the actors, but a nice blend of pure 3d modeling power to back it with extra clean textures and lighting.
.. I do admit, I dont have a problem with the way MK:DA through MK:A characters look, but it would be cool to see some familiar faces return in 3D. _________________ MORTAL KOMBAT!!!

Well Kerri did say in Sonya's bio card that she would love to play Sonya again. _________________ Very Angry Girls Instigate Negative Attitudes.

I doubt it will happen, after doing Interviews with MK Team members most of them claimed it was "dated technology" and they would never use it agian. - http://www.totalmortalkombat.com/mkteam/mkteam.php

Don't get discouraged. Though not probable, it's definately possible. Maybe someone someday will make a comeback with digitized actors, and MK will hopefully follow. You never know. _________________ Very Angry Girls Instigate Negative Attitudes.

Sounds great, just a matter of whether they're willing to take the risk. _________________ Destiny is a game is it not, and now you await my latest move!

Lordmortainius, don't revive topics that haven't been posted in for over 6 months. unless you've got something new to contribute, that is. take a look through the forum's rules from the board's front page for me, mkay? it'll help keep you from breaking any rules you may not have known were in place.
happy posting! =) _________________ Nikki: your friendly neighborhood moderator. ^_^
