You also forgot the part that Daegon is also the leader of the Red Dragon, named after his guardian dragon, Caro. In terms of the swords, though, the only thing about why Taven has the Drakesword weapon style and Daegon has the Drakeswords fighting style is because of Daegon stealing both swords from Argus' temple, heading back to Edenia and killing Argus and Delia after finding out the truth about everything. Let's also not forget that Daegon was awakened way too early by Caro, who is mainly to blame for Daegon's madness.
