Wich is it? In a book on japanese mythology book i checked out in high school its Rajin. I MK 1-3 plus ulimate MK 3 its Rayden. Then in 4, MKM and MK: Special forces its Raiden.

It depends on how Midway want to accurately spell it. In the first 3 games it was "Rayden", so I am estimating that the real spelling would be 'Rayden', with a Y.

Actuly i think the way the mytholgy book had it was the corect spelling. But i like Rayden better and i wish Midway would change it back to that. You know Kintaro's in jap myth to but they changed him he was a teany tiny man the rode a lil' horse. But they didnt change Fujin.

It wasn't Raiden for long because around the time MK1 came out (to the home systems, I think) another game came out entitled "Raiden"

Well they need to change agian so people don't get it confused with that gut from MG2: Son's of Liberty and it looks cooler to.

On every Arcade version his name was RAIDEN, but as stated before, his name was changed for the home versions, because SNK's Fatal Fury had allready registered RAIDEN (form. known as Big Bear)...

No one was putting it down. I was just stating that the names of the new guy "Raiden and the thunder god in MK are the same they are even spelld the same.

Oh. Well i never played it. Don't have a ps2 yet. Should be getting one soon tough. I'm gonna try to get mg2: Substance as well as Tekken tag, Virtua Fighter 4, Extermination, Devil May Cry 1 and 2, and Turok: Evolution. And ofcorse MK: DA is at the top of my list.

Yeah, the name was changed from
"Raiden" to "Rayden" in the home
versions because of the arcade,
Jaguar, Lynx, and TurboGrafx 16
games called "Raiden". Search for
"Raiden" on www.GameFAQs.com to
see all the games by that name.
Anyway, I like the spelling "Raiden"
over "Rayden".
