Interview with: Katalin Zamiar Interviewer: Vladimir Legkostup
Subject: About Katalin Zamiar Date: 27/09/2001

Vladirus: Why did you start to do Martial Arts?

Katalin Zamiar: I always loved martial arts as a child - i was a fan of Bruce Lee like most martial artists.

V: Who was your martial arts teacher?

KZ: A man named George Berry.

V: You stared in Mortal Kombat 2 and never appeared in the famous series later on. Why?

KZ: Because they never paid us from the game so we were involved in a lawsuit.

V: What attracts you more- a profession of a fighter or that of a journalist
specializing in the field of Martial Arts?

KZ: I prefer to have a more professional career -like business owner and writer.

V: What would you advise to people intending to go in for sport on a professional level in case they dont know what to start with?

KZ:It is important to be well conditioned and have an understanding of fitness and exercise
science.

V: Please, tell some words about your training regime.

KZ: The key to my training is cross training. dont only do martial arts - i lift weights, spinning, yoga, piltaes, dance.

V: As i know all the actors performed all the moves by themselves on the shooting of mk. Was anybody injured?

KZ: No one was injured during the filming

V: What did you profit dealing such stars as Evander Holyfield and Oscar de la Hoya?

KZ: I wrote for a magazine that was bilingual and i covered professional boxing in Las Vegas.

V: You are compared to Linda Hamilton starring in "Terminator 2". Are you acquainted to Linda? How do you like the comparison?

KZ: I am not related to Linda Hamilton - it was a writer who compared my figure to hers.

V: Are you fond of music and what music style do you prefer?

KZ: I actually like all types of music except hard heavy metal.

V: What is your work now?

KZ: I am writer and owner of a martial arts school and fitness facility.

V: Do you play videogames and how do you like the game in which you act yourself?

KZ: I do not like to play video games, but it is fun to watch others play my character.

V: Is Bruce Lee still your hero? What attracts you in him?

KZ: I think that he is - b/c he was the first to really make martial arts looks cool and exciting.

V: What's your attitude to Mixed Martial Arts and to Ultimate Fighting Championship?

KZ: I think those you compete in it are very tough. i prefer to see the art based competitions, but they are true warriors.

V: Religion and martial arts have always gone side by side. How important is the role of God in your life and what religion do you confess?

KZ: God is important and i am catholic- however, i do not beleive martial arts and religion go together - i think spirituality is not the same as religion.

V: Did you enjoy the process of working under mk2? What impressed you most?

KZ: Yes i enjoyed it very much - i was impressed with how much fun it was.

V: What is life for you?

KZ: Family, relationships, goals and health are most important.

V: What do you think about www.mkwarriors.net?

KZ: It is nice - i am not a big website surfer.
