| Chapter 15: Frozen fury |

Subzero balled his fists up and placed himself at the center of the arena. For whatever reason this unknown city existed it was clear that it was more then meets the eye. There appeared to be twenty ninja fighters all allied with Reptile. All in his dark green gear. All of them getting closer to the cold warrior. Subzero faced the lot of them as the rest scattered behind him. He brought his hands together and created his first attack. With one wave of his arms he shot out a stream of ice that barracaded up to make a fine long and high ice shield blocking half of the fighters to make it to the arena. The rest that appeared behind Subzero rushed in on the arena floor. Subzero leaped up into the air and flipped over the rushing ninjas. As he landed he grabbed one ninjas arm and froze it stiff. With a swift yank Sub broke the arm off and smacked the ninja over the head with it. The ninja fell on the ground as another came hopping over him. Sub lifted his foot and jabbed it hard in the second ninja's chest shattering his rib cage. Second ninja hit the ground hard as well. Two more came jumping together towards Subzero. Sub cleared a back handspring, freezing the ground he had just stood on. The two ninjas landed on the cold spot slipping and falling over eachother. Sub twirled his foot around encircling himself then striking both ninjas in the head at the same time. Sub was crouched down now onlooking the remaining six ninjas from the rear side of the arena. They didn't appear to be rushing him like the others did. But the looks in their eyes were still evil.
"Come on!" yelled Subzero getting to his feet getting into stance again. The six then came around surrounding Subzero. One of them attacked first with furious fists striking back and forth. A second came from behind with a flying kick. Subzero upblocked all of the first ninjas attacks then spun his body around him. As he ducked the second ninja came through and nearly took the first ninjas head right off with his flying kick. Subzero swung his left leg around and nailed it right in the second ninjas gut. Two more ninjas came from the side both with fists blazing. Sub grabbed one ninja's hand and used his own to back fist the ninja in the face. Still holding the ninja's arm, Sub threw him to the ground and twisted his arm till it broke. The other ninja came ontop and kicked Sub to the ground. Sub popped back to his feet and threw a quick ice ball right into the ninja's head. As his head froze Subzero jumped at him and kicked his skull right off. It shattered right next to the ground where the other two ninjas stood in amazement. Subzero wasted no time and ran after them. Whirling his legs around he met one ninja in the face and the other he collided hands with numerous times. Their speed went great but Subzero overcame by kneeling and punching the ninja right in the junk. Both ninjas went down hard as those ten met with an easy defeat.
Subzero got up and turned to see that his ice sheild was finally giving way. The other ten Ninja's were breaking through. Subzero had had enough of these weak fighters. Surely this was just a test to see how he would fent from them. This was not the time, he thought. He brought his hands into the air and brought the cold from the air siphoning it into his hands. The cold particles all came together as he slowly brought his hands down to his waist side. As the ten ninjas broke through the shield, Subzero let loose his brother's last known attack. An Ice dome from within spread outside his body and began covering the arena at an alarming rate. Within seconds it covered all ten ninjas and turned them all into statues of ice frozen solid. Subzero then went down to one knee. Such a move was definetely energy draining. He caught his breath as he suddenly saw reptile on top of a balcony folding his arms standing next to a familiar person.
"Quan Chi!" yelled Subzero. Quan Chi had an evil posture as his face looked dimly radiant.
"What is going on here?" said Subzero. He wanted answers. Whether he was going to get them or not was a different story.
"You are much like your brother Subzero. To see your power I made sure you fought Reptile's men. Now that I know you and he are the same I invite you to join my side. I make no offers to such other fighters of Earth Realm. Join and fight against Earth Realm." said Quan Chi. He couldn't have been serious. Quan Chi was a sorceror. He had no need for an earth warrior, why would he now. Too many un answered questions. He needed to get out of this imaginary city.
"Your acts are both dishonorable and pointless. Tell me where my brother is!" he commanded. Quan Chi then gave off an evil smile.
"Very well." he said raising his arm. Suddenly from behind both Reptile and Quan Chi, Subzero's brother appeared standing inbetween the two. Sub's eyes almost bulged out through his mask. Was what he was seeing true, or was it a trick? Surely his brother would not side with such a killer. Or would he?
"Brother? Is that truly you?" said Sub. His brother wouldn't answer. But his eyes were real enough to show that he was indeed his elder brother. Sub didn't know what to say now. His long trek of searching for his brother had led him to this unknown city where not only was it a trap but his brother had now sided with the enemy. Why?...
