| Chapter 06: Jui Jsinn |
By: Shaun Penney |
Subzero kept a ragged brown cloak on over his Lin Kuei attire. It was prudent that no one knew of his roots while he went through town. With his mask underneath his belt, his face was shown true. With his mark over his right eye. Since no one but he and one other how the mark got there, it was safe to say he would not be recognized by anyone this far away from where he used to exist.
Not much had changed in the last 500 years in some cities. Especially Jui Jsinn. After the war of 1625, it became a main trading post for the other scourages across the southern borders. They stayed away from most of the outside civilization. Jui Jsinn was run by a a league known as the Jade stars, a family running Jui Jsinn for nine generations.
Subzero walked from place to place doing nothing but scoping the area. One thing he was always taught was to survey the area. If one must fight, one must know the surrounding that he is in. The people around him kept quite for the most part. A few scattered skermishes but nothing worth the effort of listening too. After a few hours, Subzero finally decided to sit down near an open tavern to rest and drink. He sat alone and kept his thoughts well to himself. He only sipped his drink at most. After another hour of sitting he began to remember about the mark on around his eye. He never really thought about it, but ever since Raiden told him his elder brother was alive, the old memory resurfaced again. It wasn't a memory he particularly cared to be proud of, but it came again. He closed his eyes and let it come. It was time he came to terms with what had happened that day. The day he fought his brother for the first time...
