When Raiden joined the elder gods, he found a medallion. It was the god creator medallion that was lost for 3000 years. He used it to create the Shadow God for the purpose of protecting Raiden's friends from evil. It hides in the shadows of people and if the person is in danger, it will emerge and destroy the enemie. It can only be summoned out of the shadows by Raiden and Liu Kang.
