After the ordeal with Shinnok, I left for a journey of self discovery and enlightment, but I did not leave empty handed. Raiden gave me his staff before I departed. For his kind gesture I felt truley honored. As the years went by, I have been gradually getting better in the art of using Raiden's staff. My training came to a hault as soon as I learned my most trusted allie Liu Kang, has been murdered.

I attended Liu Kang's funeral and left Raiden's staff in Liu Kang's coffin. For it's pure and heavenly essence will guide Liu Kang to everlasting peace and blissful rest he so rightfully deserves after defending Earthrealm for so many years.

After deep meditation, I went to his memorial, and saw that his body and the staff I left for him were gone. Princess Kitana came up to me later and invited me to a secret gathering of warriors fighting for light. It was there that I learned that Raiden has been corrupted, and Liu Kang has been traversed into the living dead. We also learned of a prize where the victor obtains God-like power.

I saw my opportunity. I will finally be able to see through the eyes of a God. I will finally be able to answer all of my questions and all of the questions humanity has been asking for millions of years. I will get see...even further.
