g-NET SIGNS DEAL WITH MIDWAY TO CREATE THE
"MORTAL KOMBAT: DECEPTION" iGUIDE
New York, NY (September XX, 2004) - g-NET Media LLC announced that it has entered into a multi-continent agreement with Midway, Inc. to create the exclusive, official DVD strategy guide, or "iGuide," for Midway's upcoming "Mortal Kombat: Deception" videogame, 2004's most anticipated fighting game, and the 6th title in the groundbreaking Mortal Kombat fighting franchise. Under the agreement, g-NET will officially produce and distribute the "Mortal Kombat: Deception" iGuide in all English-speaking territories, including North America, the UK, and Australia. The iGuide will hit stores nationally on October 4th.
"Mortal Kombat: Deception - with its deep mythology, endless secrets, and brand new game modes - is an ideal property for an iGuide," said David Getson, CEO of g-NET Media LLC. "There is so much information, instruction, and entertainment related to this game that the iGuide can deliver to gamers in ways they've never seen before."
The Mortal Kombat: Deception iGuide Official Interactive Game Guide DVD is full of added-value bonus content and gameplay strategy. The iGuide showcases the game's new, unique features, equips gamers to get the most out of the game, and provides loads of bonus content extras that any Mortal Kombat fan would "kill" for. Between the instructional video features and the printable PDF cheat sheets, Mortal Kombat: Deception iGuide users will have every secret revealed to them and a mastery of all the different new gameplay modes.
"Along with the millions of MK fans around the globe, Midway and g-NET are extremely excited about the release of Mortal Kombat: Deception," said Steve Allison, chief marketing officer, Midway. "With Deception being, by far, the most in-depth and secret-rich title in the franchise's history, we're pleased to help provide the new i-Guide as a reference tool that we feel even the most hardcore Mortal Kombat enthusiasts will be excited about."
g-NET's "all access" iGuides are interactive, DVD strategy guides that enable consumers to fully navigate, enjoy, and master today's most popular videogames. iGuides feature many innovations that improve upon the existing print strategy-guide format. The Mortal Kombat: Deception Official iGuide will include such features as: fatalities
Kombat Kontrols - A section for beginners, people new to Mortal Kombat, or fighting games in general.
Kombatants - Every character's moves, combos, weapons, and fighting styles are not only covered, but sorted by difficulty and how often they will most likely be used.
Arenas - A look at all the fighting arenas available, including where the destructible and interactive environments are and any special requirements needed to play or unlock levels.
Fatalities and Hara Kiris - Learn some "killer" ways to finish your opponent, as well as the new feature that enables you to destroy yourself with honor rather than allowing your opponent to finish you.
Konquest Walkthrough - A strategic step-by-step for each section of this new RPG-like gameplay mode.
Puzzle Kombat - A comprehensive rundown of this puzzling, new gameplay mode.
Chess Kombat - A tutorial of this tactical, new gameplay mode, including tips and tricks that ensure success.
Unlockables - This section contains listings of unlockable content, kombatants, arenas and costumes available in Mortal Kombat: Deception.
Crib Sheets - Available to DVD-Rom users, the iGuides printable Crib Sheets are handy when one wants to reference the moves lists for each character or krypt unlockables while playing the game itself.
Bonus Content - Go beyond the game and get into MK Trivia, Mythology, and Kulture sections. Take a tour of Deception with creator, Ed Boon. And so much more!
With a patent pending and a growing slate of exclusive licenses from some of the world's largest game publishers, g-NET is the first-mover, pioneer, and leader in the DVD game guide market. In Spring 2004, g-NET officially launched the Official iGuide DVD game guide product line, which is distributed nationally, wherever games are sold, by FUNimation Productions Ltd. FUNimation is one of the country's leading home-video distributors responsible for properties such as "Dragon Ball Z," "Yu-Gi-Oh!," "Yu Yu Hakusho," and "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles."
