Shang Tsung's scheme in the last tournament came to a violent end at the hands of liu kang, one of the seven chosen warriors who survived. Facing his execution for his failure and the apparent death of goro, tsung convinces shao kahn to grand him a second chance. Shang Tsung's new plan is to lure his enemies to compete in the outworld where they will meet certain death by shao kahn himself. But now Shao Kahn appeared too weak to win a personal battle with the champion of Mortal Kombat, Liu Kang. This way his plan failes...but Shao Kahn vows to avenge his defeat.
