Now he travels into the dark realm to seek revenge. With his Shaolin temple in ruins, Liu Kang Journeys into the outworld, enters Shao Kahns second new tournament and unleashes a fury that does not end until the defeat of Shao Kahn. Liu Kang then returns to the seclusion of his Shaolin temple. He pays his respects to his lost brothers and finally realizes that the events, which have taken place, were all fulfillment of his destiny.
After winning his first new Mortal Kombat and escaping from the outworld, Liu Kang looks to the future. He begins training a new generation of Shaolin alongside Kung Lao, but nothing could prepare them for the unexpected earth invasion. After the outworld invasion Liu Kang finds himself the prime target of Kahn's extermination squads. He is the Shaolin champion and has thwarted Kahn's schemes in the past. Of all the humans Kang poses the greatest threat to Shao Kahn's rule. And Kang proves again to be the reigning Mortal Kombat champion by easily defeating Kahn's minions. But it's the apparent death of his friend Kung Lao that enrages Kang and enables him to find the strength to defeat Shao Kahn. Then before the portal closes, Liu Kang is greeted by princess Kitana and thanked for saving the earth and the outworld. Also Kung Lao appeared to be still alive, though heavily wounded in the fights.
Still the immortal champion of Mortal Kombat, Liu Kang finds himself venturing into the realm of Edenia to rescue prinsess Kitana from the vile clutches of Quan Chi during Shinnok's war. Unsuccesfull in his mission Liu returns to earth and mounts an effort to bring together earth's greaters warriors. He does it this time not only to free Kitana's homeworld but also to assist his mentor and earth's protector Raiden. But he rufuses and tells her he has to stay as the champion of Mortal Kombat to protect the earth Realm. Kitana understands and bids Liu farewell...
Shang Tsung and Quan Chi had traveled to Earthrealm to seek out Shang Tsung's nemesis, Liu Kang. By disguising himself as Kung Lao, Shang Tsung was able to approach Liu Kang while he was practicing his meditation katas. In the fight that ensued, Shang Tsung had almost lost to Liu Kang's might. From out of nowhere, Quan Chi threw the Shaolin monk off balance with a surprise attack... and gave Shang Tsung the moment he needed to kill Liu Kang. Kung Lao was the one to find his body and swore revenge for the assassination of the Mortal Kombat Champion... |
