She was hand picked by Shao Kahn to serve as Sindel's personal protector. She becomes suspicious of Shao Kahn's loyalty towards her race of Shokan when he places Motaro as the leaders of his extermination squads. On the outworld Motaro's race of centaurians are the natural enemy of Shokan. But she stays loyal to her emperor to earn respect to her race. With this purpose she becomes a dangerous opponent to Liu Kang and his friends when they try to get to Sindel during Shao Kahn's invasion.
While Sheeva serves her master on earth her race of Shokan are being punished on the Outworld. Kahn now favors Motaro's race of centaurs and aids them in defeating the Shokan. After learning of these events, Sheeva turns on her master. On her way to assasinate Shao Kahn, she slew Motaro outside of Kahn's cell. She then came along the imprisoned Kano who offered his assistance if Sheeva let him out of his cage. Kano and Sheeva proceeded to the throne room of Shao Kahn. When they arrived at the door, Kano suggested that he go in first to distract the Emperor. Kano would give his signal for Sheeva to enter and slay the preoccupied Shao Kahn. But Kano betrayed Sheeva and informed Shao Kahn of her assassination plot. When Kano called her in, Shao Kahn thrust a sword through her chest from behind.
